Another Success!

22nd January 2010

John Innes Work Experience Scheme

Every year, the John Innes Centre invites a small number of school students from around East Anglia to spend a week on a work experience placement at their research establishment near Norwich.  Olivia Moore in S4 decided to apply for one of these placements.  As only 8 places are offered each year, from hundreds of applications, the chances of being successful were extremely limited.

However, I am very pleased to announce that Olivia was successful in her application and will be spending a week at the JIC research centre sometime in the spring.

Sarah Tolland (work experience co-ordinator) from the John Innes Centre said they were, “extremely impressed with Olivia’s application and were pleased to say that all of the selection panel immediately picked out Olivia as a first choice, her application was outstanding”  Sarah went on to say that she looked forward to Olivia joining them.

This is a great opportunity for Olivia, as she will gain valuable experience working with scientists and other professionals in a bio-research based environment.  We at Finborough Science Department would like to pass onto Olivia our congratulations and wish her every success in her placement.
