The Finborough School ‘Junior Schools’ quiz team gained a well earned victory over Orwell Park on Tuesday.

The strong team (pictured in action) consisting of Sam Carruthers (captain), Russell Vernon, Harriett Dulake and Ruairidh Penman got off to a great start in the quiz competition based on the format of ‘University Challenge’. At the halfway stage Finborough had a healthy lead but knew they could not rest against a dangerous Orwell Park team. However every member of the team was in top form and when Finborough managed a to get a couple of starter questions along with all of their bonus questions correct the match slipped away from Orwell Park. Final score Orwell Park 260, Finborough 440.

Team captain Carruthers was delighted after the hard fought match “It’s a great feeling to be in the next round of such a demanding competition. We’ve got Ipswich High next and we’re looking forward to the challenge”.
