RENT is a hit!

15th February 2013

Finborough School staged a fantastic performance of RENT at the Theatre Royal in Bury St Edmunds on Tuesday 12th February.

RENT tells the story of one year in the life of eight individuals struggling with life in the gritty suburbs of New York City.  The story centres around Mark and Roger, two roommates, struggling to come to terms with the after-math of a recent tragedy.  Other among the group are the object of Mark’s affection, his former girlfriend Maureen, Maureen’s lover Joanne, Roger’s new girlfriend, dancer Mimi, Roger and Mark’s former roommate, Tom, Tom’s lover Angel and Benjamin Coffin III a former member of the group who married for money and has become Mark and tom’s landlord.

In the year that follows the group deal with love, loss, AIDS and modern day life in a truly powerful story.

Graham Shorrock took some wonderful shots of the production at the theatre royal. There are some examples in this report but you can view all of them by following the link, the password is Suffolk. You can then purchase the photographs from his website.
