Salters’ Chemistry Camps

Following on from her success in achieving a work experience placement at the John Innes Centre, Olivia Moore along with two other S4 students has gained a place on a three day Chemistry Camp, taking place at various universities located around the country.

The Chemistry Camps are organised annually by The Salters’ Institute, which is a charity dedicated to the appreciation of chemistry and related sciences among the young.   Nationally, fifty places are offered at each camp which, aim to give students experience in working in laboratories and in a research-based environment.  The students will also attend lectures and evening social events.

The successful students; Josh Elmon, Tony Fegan and Olivia have been offered places at The University of York, The University of Sussex and The University of Cambridge, respectively.

This is a wonderful opportunity that will give students the chance to experience university life and the science department would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all the students and hope they have a thoroughly enjoyable experience.
