Health

The House Matron has responsibility for pupils' healthcare.

There are regular surgeries for the administration of medicines, and pupils can go to surgery to discuss health problems.

Pupils are taken to Stowmarket Health Centre (a female doctor is available on request) for medical appointments.

Our House Matron is responsible for taking boarders to appointments such as the dentist or orthodontist.

A confidential counsellor is available in school on a regular basis for pupils.

Nutrition

At Finborough School we pride ourselves on the quality of our food.  During a recent review the staff and pupils both said they loved the food so much they did not want it to change!

All our food is home made in house by our team of trained chefs led by Richard Pride, Head Chef.  As we are a boarding school we can offer breakfast, lunch and tea to our day pupils as well as the boarders.  The menu is varied and can cater for wheat, dairy and nut free diets.  There is a choice at each meal time always including a tasty vegetarian option.

We understand that the right food can have a positive affect on attention span, energy levels and mood.  Our pupils are encouraged to eat a varied diet to include their daily portions of fruit and vegetables.  From September 2009 our pupils have been able to eat the food that they have grown in our vegetable garden.
