Geography at Flatford Mill
The Geography Department were blessed with the weather this week. Our A2 field course was very successful and Flatford Mill provided the best opportunities to collect, present, analyse and conclude data ready for the exam in the summer. We spent a day looking at changing river channel characteristics along the River Brett; quality of life in relation to distance from major urban areas and a day at Walton on the Naze to compare managed and unmanaged beaches.
This academic fieldtrip proved invaluable for paper 2 of the A2 course. Proper geography and hardly a colouring pencil in site! This trip also provided an excellent opportunity to socialise with other schools; a taster for those moving onto university.
