Mr Ian Lavender presents ‘The Croft Award for Music and Performing Arts’

We were delighted to have the attendance of Mr Ian Lavender at our Annual Prize giving event on Thursday 7th July.   Mr Ian Lavender, stage, film and television actor, best known for his role as Private Pike in the BBC comedy series Dad’s Army, presented  ‘The Croft Award for Music and Performing Arts to student Ellie Reeves. This is a very special new prize that has been bequeathed to the school by the late Mrs Ann Croft (wife of David Croft who wrote Dad’s Army) . Mrs Croft came to see her Grandchildren, Reggie and Amelia, perform in many of the school’s shows. She was so impressed by the progress she saw in the children and young peoples’ performances, she wanted to establish a major award to celebrate such great achievements. Congratulations Ellie.
