Duke of Edinburgh – May 2021

During May half term Year 9 students worked towards their Duke of Edinburgh Bronze, Silver rand Gold Awards. They spent a glorious time camping, walking and canoeing in Shropshire near the Welsh Border.  After setting up camp on our first day students had to practice their navigation skills on a short local walk.  Sunday’s walk was more challenging as they had to navigate a 20km walk and cook their own lunch!  On their final day they had a wonderful time canoeing on the River Severn.  The whole weekend was a real highlight and long awaited return to enjoying the countryside as a Finborough Family.
