GCSE Success at Finborough
Finborough School Year 11 students, their families and their teachers are celebrating absolutely excellent GCSE results.
It is important to highlight that in an unprecedented time, fraught with disruption, everyone of our students completed their courses and underwent a comprehensive assessment process generating irrefutable evidence of their achievement.
Our top achievers were Esmee F and Sam B, who alongside securing the top grade in AS level Mathematics a year early have a suite of nine grade 9s with Sam also adding an 8 for Economics that he studied as an extra curricular option. These two outstanding students were at the pinnacle of a stellar set of results achieved by all off our students.
Levels of progress were exceptional with well over half of students achieving a full grade higher than their baseline potential across all subjects with the following eight individuals Sam H, Ellen G, Esmee F, Sam B, Kelly Z, Nathan M, Ellie S and Isabella S gaining an unprecedented two grades above their nationally benchmarked potential.
This excellent achievement by our students represents quite exceptional progress, richly deserved from a cohort who demonstrated outstanding ‘Learnability’ and industry, working without relent throughout the last two years with their fantastic teachers.
The challenges of Covid19, enforcing two significant periods of lockdown and online learning did not thwart this wonderful group of young people, all of whom achieved their very best and have laid the very strongest foundations as they progress to the next stage of their education.
We are so proud of them and excited that a record thirty of our Year 11 will be joining Finborough Sixth Form in September to continue their education and work towards the very best university places including a sizeable proportion of Oxbridge candidates.
