Legally Blonde the Musical
Finborough’s landmark production of Legally Blonde the Musical was the first with a cast exclusively in the top three year groups of the school. Following auditions and rehearsals across this academic year the show had an amazing six performance run.
The audiences were wowed by an incredible cast enjoying a depth of acting from the talented group of students. The beautiful portrayal of the key characters was matched by stratospheric vocal performances, coupled with expertly choreographed dancing, that brought a relentless energy to the production.
Esmee and Liv both shined as Elle, spearheading the cast, whilst Roisin was breathtaking as Paulette.
Performing Arts powerhouse and Head Girl Maisie, demonstrated her exceptional talent in her final performance at the school. Following a collection of lead roles over the years, she now looks ahead to studying Theatre and expanding her already extensive skill set at university. Similarly after an incredible run of shows Head Boy Woody who stormed to notoriety seven years ago as the lead in Bugsy Malone, bowed out of Finborough productions inimitably as Ed Forest.
The versatile and talented cast beautifully entertained the audiences receiving rapturous applause and standing ovations that recognised the quite incredible standard of the production.
Head of Performing Arts, Director and Producer Jon Bridgeman (who also had a last minute cameo role as Carlos) expressed his pride in the work of his team and the quality of performances from the young actors.
A fantastic show with performances from students who will undoubtedly in a number of cases ascend towards the upper echelons of stage and screen having started their journey at Finborough. We now look forward to seeing our younger students in action in the School production of Shrek the Musical at the Dance East Theatre in a few weeks time.
