A-Level Success

In a return to examinations after a two-year gap due to the global pandemic, Finborough Sixth Form students have achieved some outstanding results. This includes our highest ever number of top grades as well as many other notable high achievers with many achieving well above expectations.

The particular highlights include Robin, who has gained three A* and one A grade to secure a place at UEA to study medicine and Tom who amassed three A* grades and two B grades – he will now go on to read Mathematics.  Matthew achieved an A* and three A grades securing his place at the University of York to study Computer Science, whilst Dominic scored two A grades and two B grades gaining him a place at Bath University to study Sport and Exercise Science.

These exceptional grades are at the top of many achievements for a cohort of students that were sitting their first ever set of public examinations.

Deputy Headteacher Barry Collins who leads the Senior School and Sixth form commented that ā€œIā€™m incredibly proud of all our students and what they have achieved.  Their grades represent how well they have worked not only over the last few months, but also over the entire course.  It is easy to forget that much of the first year of their A-Level course was spent learning at home through online lessons, and without knowing if there would be exams at the end.  This makes the achievements even more impressive.ā€

We now look forward to GCSE examination results for our year 11 students next week.
