A Week of Tennis Success!

After a hugely enjoyable and successful tennis season, we are delighted to announce that our Year 3 girls team were crowned County Tennis Champions at their finals day last week at Ipswich School. At the same event, our Year 3 mixed team finished runner up in what was an enthralling competition. 

In addition, our Year 5 boys team became County Champions over at Framlingham College in what was an enormously closely fought and competitive day of tennis between all schools represented. They too then finished runner up in the mixed event, narrowly losing a very close final that almost went to a sudden death shoot-out.

Finally, our Year 6 boys (consisting of three Year 5s and a Year 4) concluded a very satisfying season with a silver medal earlier this week. Being runners up in the county with such a young team is a tremendous achievement and certainly bodes well for next year!

Above all though, as a school we have had more teams competing than ever before and it’s been a great joy to see children representing Finborough with such excellence, both in the level of tennis and their standards of behaviour on and off court – they are a credit to us all.
