England Rugby call up for Finborough pupil
Finborough School is proud to announce that one of its students, Charlie Tamani, has yet again earned an invitation to the England Rugby U17 training camp this month.
Tamani, who is currently in Year 12 and recently celebrated his 17th birthday, has just returned from France having represented England in the Men’s U18 squad at the prestigious Six Nations contest held in April. The Six Nations Championship is an annual international rugby union competition featuring teams from England, France, Ireland, Italy, Scotland, and Wales. Tamani was joined in France by fellow Finborough student, Henry Lumley.
Charlie’s exceptional performance on the field has earned him a further invitation to the England U17 training camp later in May, which is a testament to his dedication and talent in rugby.
Charlie has been a student at Finborough School since Year 5, and has demonstrated a strong commitment to both his academic and athletic pursuits. Balancing his studies with his passion for rugby, Charlie plays for the Northampton Saints, where he continues to hone his skills and contribute to the team’s success.
Head of Rugby at Finborough School, Mr. Mitch Turner expressed his pride in Charlie’s accomplishments, stating, “Charlie Tamani embodies the spirit of excellence that we strive to instil in all our students. His dedication to his sport and his studies is truly inspiring, and we are thrilled to see him achieve such high honours on the rugby field.”

Charlie’s journey from Year 5 to representing his country at an international level is a source of immense pride for the entire Finborough School community. His achievements serve as an inspiration to his peers and a shining example of what can be accomplished with hard work and determination.
