Finborough School Celebrates Exceptional GCSE Results and Record Sixth Form Enrolment
We are delighted to share the outstanding achievements of our Year 11 pupils, who have delivered a remarkable set of GCSE results this summer – marking a significant milestone in their academic journeys and in the life of our school.
This year, the number of students achieving top grades (9 to 7) has more than doubled compared to 2024, reflecting the strength of our academic departments, the dedication of our teaching staff, and the aspirational culture that defines Finborough School.
We are also thrilled to announce the largest ever transition of pupils into our Sixth Form, a clear sign of the confidence families place in our holistic, character-driven approach to education. This follows last week’s exceptional A-level and technical award results, further reinforcing Finborough’s reputation for delivering high-quality outcomes across all stages of secondary education.
Subject Highlights and Individual Successes
Our pupils achieved particularly strong results in:
- History – 59% of pupils achieved grades 9 to 7
- Psychology – 55% of pupils achieved grades 9 to 7
- French – 50% of pupils achieved grades 9 to 7
- Science results were particularly strong, especially Biology, echoing our recent A-level success
Among our standout achievers were Nkenna, Florence, Sophia, Joshua, Daisy, and Nathanial, whose hard work and determination exemplify the Finborough spirit.
Finborough vs National Performance
Finborough continues to outperform national benchmarks in both high-grade achievement and overall pass rates. These results are a testament to the dedication of our staff, the ambition of our pupils, and the effectiveness of our curriculum.
