Cracking the Code: Year 7 Visit Bletchley Park

Pupils in Year 7 visited Bletchley Park recently, the historic home of the World War II codebreakers. As part of their maths curriculum, the students took part in an interactive cybersecurity workshop. Pupils got to look at how safe their passwords are and how to make them safer.

Students were then introduced to the principles behind modern facial recognition technology and how keeping our information secure has developed over time.

Working in teams, they tackled practical problem-solving activities and collaborative challenges, gaining a deeper appreciation of the complexity and pressure faced by the cryptanalysts of Bletchley Park.

The students were also able to explore the mansion, the original codebreaking huts, and the immersive exhibitions that trace the extraordinary achievements of the men and women who worked there. It was a fascinating insight into the work
