Finborough School Announces Gold Partnership with London Mavericks
Finborough School is delighted to announce a new Gold Partnership with Super League netball club London Mavericks, creating exciting opportunities for pupils to connect with the elite game while building upon the school’s already thriving and successful netball programme.
The partnership was officially launched during a visit from London Mavericks player Hannah Knightbridge, who joined the school to sign the partnership agreement and deliver a specialist coaching session for Finborough’s senior netball players.
The new partnership has been designed to connect school netball with the highest levels of the sport. Through access to professional players, coaches, performance environments, masterclasses and mentoring opportunities, Finborough pupils will benefit from experiences that extend beyond traditional school sport and provide valuable insight into the demands of elite performance.
The partnership also complements an already established culture of netball excellence at Finborough. The school has a strong track record of developing talented players, with many pupils currently competing in county pathways, regional performance programmes and elite player development environments. These achievements reflect both the quality of coaching available at the school and the commitment shown by pupils to developing their game.
By working alongside London Mavericks, Finborough aims to further strengthen these opportunities, helping aspiring players better understand the pathway from school netball into performance squads and, ultimately, the professional game.
The relationship with London Mavericks will focus not only on athletic performance but also on developing confidence, leadership, teamwork, resilience and high-performance habits, equipping pupils with skills that will benefit them throughout their lives.
The wider school community will have opportunities to engage with the partnership through player visits, coaching events, tournaments and matchday experiences. As part of the programme, Finborough students will travel to Essex Sports Arena in Colchester in the Spring term to watch London Mavericks compete in the Netball Super League, experiencing elite netball first-hand and gaining further inspiration from the sport’s top athletes.
The coaching session at Finborough was led by Hannah Knightbridge, who made her London Mavericks debut during the 2026 season and is also a member of the Future Roses programme. Hannah previously captained England U21 to a bronze medal at the Netball World Youth Cup, making her an inspiring role model for Finborough’s aspiring netballers.
It is a privilege for our school to become a Gold Partner of London Mavericks. Finborough already has a strong and ambitious netball culture, with pupils achieving success across county, regional and elite pathways, and this partnership will help take those opportunities even further.

It provides an exciting pathway for our aspiring players, while also reinforcing the values of teamwork, leadership and confidence that sit at the heart of our netball programme.
