Finborough Welcomes Ocean Rowing Team for an Inspiring Visit
Earlier this week, Finborough School had the privilege of welcoming Billy Taylor and his crew, along with their impressive ocean rowing boat, for an unforgettable visit. The team captivated pupils with stories of resilience, determination, and the power of teamwork as they prepare for an extraordinary challenge.
The four-person crew, known as the Monkey Fist team, will soon embark on a daring expedition: rowing 5,500 miles across the Indian Ocean. Their mission is not only a test of endurance but also a heartfelt effort to raise funds and awareness for two incredible causes, Racing Dementia and Rock2Recovery, charities dedicated to supporting those affected by dementia and mental health challenges.
Pupils were inspired by the team’s commitment and courage, learning firsthand what it takes to overcome adversity and work together towards a common goal. The visit sparked conversations about resilience, mental strength, and the importance of supporting others.
