That’s why we make reading fun and accessible for every pupil. Our dedicated library and reading room are open to all Prep pupils, offering a welcoming space filled with stories, facts, and adventures waiting to be discovered. Whether they’re exploring a gripping novel or diving into fascinating non-fiction, pupils have the perfect environment to spark curiosity and imagination.
In Prep 5, pupils take things a step further with their reading initiative – when the reading light’s on, pupils stop what they’re doing and pick up a book! This simple habit turns reading into a shared experience and helps build confidence, focus, and a sense of joy around books.
Parents can play a big role too. Creating a reading routine at home, letting children choose their own books, and reading together are all powerful ways to nurture a love of reading. Making it fun using props, cozy spaces, or themed activities, an transform reading from a task into an adventure. And don’t forget to talk about the stories: asking questions and connecting books to real life makes reading even more meaningful.
