Rosslyn Park 2026 – Training for the future
Finborough School enjoyed a hugely positive week at the Rosslyn Park National Schools Sevens, with success on the pitch matched by an outstanding display of character, teamwork, and long-term player development across all age groups.
There were plenty of highlights to celebrate. Notably the U13s were undefeated winners of their group, recording three impressive wins and a draw. The U14s also achieved three wins and a narrow loss. Both teams showcased attacking flair and resilience against strong opposition. The 1st VII also secured a noteworthy victory, while the U16s demonstrated determination and adaptability in a competitive set of fixtures, coming away with a win, a loss and a drawer.
Nurturing Talent and Character
However, beyond the results, the week reinforced the strength of Finborough’s rugby pathway and the schools strong focus on community. From U11 through to senior level, pupils embraced the challenge of competing at one of the country’s most prestigious school tournaments, gaining invaluable experience and continuing to develop their understanding of the Sevens game.
A particularly special element of the week was the involvement of the U11 squad. Training alongside the 1st VII and even joining in their warm-up, the youngest players experienced first-hand the standards, intensity, and culture of senior school rugby. Competing against strong opposition, they showed great enthusiasm and courage, while gaining inspiration from those ahead of them in the programme.
This strong connection between year groups reflects the school’s ethos along with it’s commitment to nurturing talent from an early age, building not only skilled players, but confident, resilient young people ready to progress through the ranks.
The week at Rosslyn Park was not just about results, but also about growth, inspiration, and laying strong foundations for the future of Finborough rugby.
