Our children’s safety online is such a high priority, we have taken the bold and innovative step of creating an agreement that creates a protective seal around all aspects of their digital life. The set of non-negotiable parameters we have established are designed to embrace the innumerable advantages which technology confers on our children’s lives and their learning, whilst ensuring that their privacy and well-being are guarded.

All of our pupils agree to the following as part of our Digital Safety and Civility Agreement:

• I am committed to being safe online always.
• I will not become dependent on any of my devices. They are tools to enhance my life, not rule it.
• I understand that my devices are provided by my parents for me to use. They have a right to check them all, to ensure I am safe and being responsible online. (This includes all communications and social media)
• I will never access any inappropriate content online. I will only download or stream content that I am old enough for and that I know my parents and teachers would be happy for me to see.
• At school, I will only use devices for learning, and with the permission of my teachers.
• Out of school, I will limit my time using my devices to 1 hour maximum on week days and 4 hours across a weekend.
• I will not use social media until I am in Year 7. Then, only with a parent’s permission or my parents’ permission and ability to see all my posts.
• I will only communicate online using language and content I would be happy for my parents and teachers to read.
• All the comments I make via social media will be kind and constructive. I will never deliberately intend to be mean, unkind or mock others.
• I will never befriend and communicate with anyone online my parents do not know. I will never arrange to meet in person anyone without a parent’s or my parents’ permission.
• I will only post images and video of myself that my parents have approved.
• Any inappropriate behaviour I experience online, I will report and share, straightaway, with my parents and teachers.

The effect of this comprehensive agreement on our children is a fundamental element of their best preparation for life.

School uniform is an important aspect of the school, and helps to ensure high standards in everything we do.  All students are expected to wear and take pride in the correct school uniform along with presenting themselves in the most appropriate way for their activities during the school day.

On days where they have a sports afternoon, students should arrive at school in their sports kit in order to alleviate the need to change.  However, on all other days, full school uniform should be worn – if there is any need to change into their sports kit during the course of this day, students should change back again afterwards.

• General – all students are expected to wear white shirts (long or short sleeved), school tie and, if in senior school, a school blazer.  A school jumper/cardigan under the blazer is optional in cold weather.  Boys should wear grey trousers or shorts with grey socks.  Girls should wear a school skirt (worn on or below the knee) along with white ankle socks or navy tights in the winter).  Shirts should always be tucked into trousers/skirts, collars fastened, and ties done up to the neck.
• Coats – School coats (available from the school) are allowed to be worn in the cold weather.  For senior students the coat is in addition to (not instead of) the blazer.
• Shoes – these should be black leather, and not trainer like or casual in appearance.  Sandals, ‘sliders’ or ‘sling-backs’ should not be used, and heels should be no higher than one inch.  All shoes should be cleaned regularly.
• Hair – Hairstyles should be sensible and not extreme.  The colour must not be dyed outside of that which is natural, and shouldn’t include any streaks or highlights.   Any hair accessories (such as braids) should be minimal.  Long hair should be tied up with appropriate bands or grips.  All student faces should be clean shaven.
• Nails – these must be of a safe/appropriate length and not coloured.
• Jewellery – students are allowed to have one piercing in each ear lobe – these are limited to small studs.  Boys are not permitted to wear earrings.  Rings and bracelets should not be worn, whereas necklaces should be kept out of view behind the shirt.
• Make-up – students may wear a small amount of make-up such as mascara and eye shadow provided that it is subtle and inconspicuous.

Where required, the school reserves the right to make judgements about inappropriate presentation and uniform, and will take appropriate action to find a prompt solution.  Parents should communicate with Lead Teachers when problems with uniform arise.

To maintain the highest of standards, all students are expected to arrive daily in attire suitable to be worn at a high-end office.  On a day with a sports afternoon, students should arrive at school in their sports kit to alleviate the need to change.  However, on all other days, full school uniform should be worn – if there is any need to change into their sports kit during the day, students should change back again afterwards.

Office dress should be worn neatly and should be kept clean and in good order. Shoes should be cleaned regularly, shirts should be tucked into trousers and skirts, collars fastened, and ties done up to the neck.

• General – boys should wear a subtly coloured smart lounge suit and shirt or suit trousers and smart plain jumper, accompanied by a tie and dark socks. Girls should wear a subtly coloured two-piece skirt or trouser suit with shirt, dark socks, or plain tights. Alternatively a skirt or dress (minimum length at or just above the knee) with blazer or smart plain jumper.
• Formal Occasions – for formal occasions such as Church Assembly, school photograph, Carol Service, Prize Giving, Remembrance Service it is expected that all students should be dressed smartly; boys in suits and girls in a suit, dress and jacket or dark trousers, blouse and jacket.
• Coats – these should complement the other clothing being worn, or be plain blue or black with no obvious non-school logos and not of a ‘hoodie’ style.
• Shoes – these should be plain, and not trainer like or casual in appearance.  Sandals, ‘sliders’ or ‘sling-backs’ should not be used, and heels should be no higher than one inch.  All shoes should be cleaned regularly.
• Hair – Hairstyles should be sensible and not extreme.  The colour must not be dyed outside of that which is natural and should not include any coloured streaks or highlights.  Any hair accessories should be minimal.  Long hair should be tied up with appropriate bands or grips.  Stubble and beards on faces should be kept to a minimum unless well-groomed.
• Nails – these must be of a safe and appropriate length and of a natural colour.
• Jewellery – students are allowed to have up to two piercings in each ear – these are limited to small hoops or studs.  In addition, students are allowed to wear one necklace, discrete bracelets and unobtrusive rings.  All jewellery should be inconspicuous.
• Make-up – students may wear a small amount of make-up such as mascara and eye shadow provided that it is subtle and not attract undue attention.

Where required, the school reserves the right to make judgements about inappropriate presentation and uniform and will take appropriate action to find a prompt solution.  Parents should communicate with tutors when problems with uniform arise.
