There is a seamless transition between the prep and senior school when it comes to sport. The standards and expectations laid out in the prep school are maintained in the senior school and students are required to display role model behaviour both on and off the pitch.
Our focus is still firmly on the competitive team sports of rugby, hockey, netball, football, rounders and cricket, however, we recognise that as our students are maturing they are making their own decisions around personal development, enjoyment and skill. Hence in the senior school students are given the opportunity to exercise outside the main 6 sports and participate in, for example, kickboxercise, table tennis, yoga, dance and Ju Jitsu. For those students who wish to improve their sporting performance in the main sports we play competitive matches in every sport at every age, and endeavour to get every student representing the school in at least one sport.
A high percentage of our students also play sport for an outside club and this benefits the overall school squad performance and creates healthy competition within the teams. We host annual rugby and rounders tournaments and will soon be playing a large part in supporting Suffolk netball.
