Performing Arts Professionals Programme

Introduction 
The Performing Arts Professionals Programme is an innovative and dynamic opportunity for those with a recognised talent for Performing Arts.

Whether it is Drama, Dance, Music or a combination of all three, this programme will lay the strongest possible foundations for a career in the Performing Arts industry.

Teaching and Learning
We have a team of highly capable and experienced teachers across the spectrum of performing arts disciplines. They are part of an extensive team that includes a broad range of peripatetic teachers supporting students with their specialist performance areas.

The school’s innovative ‘Learnability’ approach actively builds character for learning and particularly the independence and interdependence crucial for success in the highly competitive performing arts industry.

Facilities
Performing Arts at Finborough is accommodated in two large studios and a music suite that includes state of the art industry spec recording studios and an unrivalled array of equipment and resources to support our students. These excellent facilities are complimented by dedicated sixth form learning spaces, common rooms. At Finborough our universal mantra ‘better never stops’ certainly applies to the constantly developing buildings.

Curriculum
The Performing Arts Professionals Programme has a highly flexible curriculum to enable a truly bespoke learning experience for every student. We work with every individual to design the best possible curriculum pathway for their aptitude, aspirations, and enjoyment. Our level three performing arts course is complimented by A level Dance and full access to our extensive array of other A level subjects including Film Studies. In addition, we have created a compact of performing arts awards including Lamda that significantly enhance students resumes as well as providing UCAS points equal to a full A level.

Professional Mentoring
All of our students on the programme enjoy mentoring from a member of our highly experienced performing arts team alongside regular access to professionals in the business. Mentoring and tutorials are focused on supporting their individual needs and preparations for auditions, university applications and much, much more. Students at Finborough Sixth Form experience an exceptional level of support, building the foundations form their sustained success in the performing arts industry.

Induction
Finborough School has a unique post GCSE induction programme, that enables all students joining our sixth form to immerse in our approach and be fully ready for the best possible start to their post 16 studies.

Leadership Development
Every Finborough Sixth Form student experiences the hugely valuable Franklin Covey Seven Habits ‘Signature’ programme designed for professionals to support the development of self-leadership coupled with the interdependence to inspire and lead others.

Opportunities to support younger students in performing arts lessons, productions and events is a genuine ‘win win’ in every respect.

Productions and Performances
Opportunities to perform are many and varied at Finborough, enabling those on our Performing Arts Professionals Programme to develop their talent in front of a live audience. From professional standard musical theatre productions to our annual summer soire, our hugely popular ‘Finborough Sessions’ and a wealth of other performances. Performing Arts Professional Programme students are actively involved in ALL aspects of these productions from leading roles on stage to set design and working on the technical set up, the range of opportunities is vast.

Audition Prep
Our Performing Arts Professionals are supported with both securing and preparing for auditions. Understanding how to shine when it counts to secure high-profile opportunities to perform that enhance the resume of experience.

Performing Arts Industry Experience / Internships
In the summer of year 12 our Performing Arts Professionals have a golden opportunity to immerse in the industry through a commissioned work experience or internship, giving a hugely valuable insight into the future and inspiring them for the future career that lies ahead.

University Entrance
Our comprehensive programme of intensely individualised support for university applications is renowned for securing our students their first-choice places at the best universities with courses that will inspire and continue the journey towards a career in performing arts.
