At Finborough School, a leading independent boarding school in Suffolk, we offer a range of scholarships for those entering our Senior School or Sixth Form. Our scholarships are for students, external and internal, who demonstrate exceptional commitment, enthusiasm, and potential for success in their chosen field.
Students can apply for scholarships in the following areas.

While our scholarships do not carry a financial fee reduction, they are prestigious awards that provide access to a bespoke programme of enrichment, mentorship, and development opportunities. Entry & Deadlines
Deadline for all 2026 scholarship registrations and applications: 5pm Monday 3rd November 2025.
- Internal candidates can apply for a scholarship in Years 6 (11+) and Year 11 (16+).
- External candidates can apply for a scholarship in Years 6 (11+), Year 8 (13+) and Year 11 (16+).
External Candidates
If you are applying for a scholarship, but have not yet registered at Finborough, please complete the registration form below. Please note, we cannot accept a scholarship application without a completed registration form. All registration forms, for those interested in a scholarship, must please be submitted by the scholarship application deadline of Monday 3rd November.
Applications are open for external candidates in Years 6 (11+), Year 8 (13+) and Year 11 (16+).

Who can apply?
Our scholarships are open to all prospective and current pupils – whether you’re applying to join Finborough for the first time, are already part of our school community, or are an international boarder seeking to thrive in a dynamic and supportive environment. Please complete a registration form alongside your scholarship application form if you are an unregistered external candidate.
What is the selection process?
Prospective scholars both current students (in the appropriate age groups) and those looking to join the school will experience a rigorous selection process. Please see our Scholarship Programme Information booklet for further details.
Means-Tested Bursaries
Any family can apply for a means-tested bursary; families whose needs meet the criteria will be given assistance in paying fees. Award of a bursary will depend on the financial, compassionate, or other circumstances of applicants. Bursary awards are subject to repeat testing of parental means each year and may be varied upwards or downwards, depending on change in circumstances.
