Our growing boarding community offers a uniquely wonderful experience with a warm family feel, we are one boarding house with a male and female divide. Both male and female students are encouraged to spend time with each other in our common areas where students can play pool, table football, watch television/movies on the big screen, take part in cooking, or simply just spend time chilling and chatting.
With the continued investment in our boarding facilities, we have adapted many areas; the students are enjoying new common rooms with the addition of twin/single rooms in girls boarding for our 6th form students. En-suite facilities are available in each dormitory.

The opportunity for students to spend their school years within one boarding house is very unique. The staff team run by Director of Boarding, James Conlon, consists of 10 members who also work across all areas of the school. The team work on a rota basis and are responsible for the care of all students from Prep 3 through to 6th form. This provides a wonderful opportunity for boarding staff to know each student on an individual basis and form a fantastic bond, which is a crucial element of a positive boarding experience. It also supports a joint approach with the student’s academic progress and support.
Our support staff in boarding includes a full-time nurse, catering team, laundry and cleaning team. Our school nurse, whilst dealing with any medical issues as they arise, also offers a weekly drop-in evening clinic to boarders who may wish to visit.

2025 Boarding House Investment
I’m very much looking forward to overseeing the refurbishment of the boarding facilities here at Finborough. It’s an exciting opportunity to enhance the environment for our boarders and ensure it continues to feel like a true home away from home. My goal as Director of Boarding is to ensure that every boarder in my care enjoys a fulfilling boarding experience, filled with fun, laughter, and lifelong friendships.
