Dance
Led by the talented and enthusiastic Lois Scott, our dance programme offers students the chance to explore movement, performance and storytelling in a way that builds confidence and inspires ambition.
Lois brings real-world experience to the studio, having performed in productions like Grease, Guys and Dolls, and Much Ado About Nothing, and choreographed large-scale school shows including School of Rock. Her background in theatre and education means she knows how to bring out the best in every student, whether they’re stepping onto the stage for the first time or preparing for a career in the arts.
In 2023 our purpose-built Performing Arts centre opened and houses industry standard facilities for our performers including two professional dance studios, a fully equipped theatre and rehearsal and recording spaces. Many students can be found using in the centre at break and lunchtime practising and collaborating with friends.
“The school provides extensive resources to support the performing arts.”

School Performances

From full-scale musicals like Moana and Frozen Jr to end-of-year showcases including the legendary Finborough Summer Soirée and informal recitals, there’s always something exciting happening. Students have the chance to perform, choreograph, and even help behind the scenes learning all sorts of the theatre skills.
Dance is part of life at Finborough from the very beginning. Our youngest pupils start learning performance skills in pre-prep, and many go on to study Dance at GCSE and BTEC Level 3. With expert guidance and plenty of encouragement, students grow into confident, expressive performers.
If your child has a special interest in dance that you would like to discuss or share with us, please get in touch with Mr Griffin (jgriffin@finborough.school) who will be glad to answer any questions you may have.
