Spotlight: Yasmin and Performing Arts Success
This year, Yasmin has been one of Finborough School’s top achievers with Distinction * grades in Performing Arts and Digital Media, demonstrating the magical combination of talent and hard work. To celebrate her achievement, Yasmin, know to the Finborough community as Yas, sat down with Headmaster, Mr Steven Clark to share thoughts on what led to her incredible success.
Following discovering her results, Yas reflected on the incredible support and attention to detail of her teachers, describing a deep sense of gratitude, and how she has been encouraged at every step to be better and better.

Speaking on highlights that helped her in her success, she says “definitely the teachers here, the investment in me. Everyone here is so supportive and that’s what I’ll miss. Mr Collins (Senior School Teacher) was very supportive. Every session he was always there, he was great.”
For Yas, the school’s motto “Better Never Stops” isn’t just a phrase, but something she experienced daily through the time, care, and belief her teachers gave her.
Yas, alongside her two younger siblings, has enjoyed most of her education at Finborough school. Throughout her journey, Yas has been a stand-out contributor to the school’s Performing Arts programme, taking part in several productions including ‘Shrek’ and ‘Oliver Twist.’
Outside of the spotlight, Yas also enjoyed being part of the Finborough Girls’ Hockey team, building strong friendships and balancing her academic and extracurricular commitments.
With her top marks now in hand, Yas is looking ahead and thoughtfully considering how to use her excellent results to shape her future. “I am planning to take a gap year and will be looking at clearing options and what I can apply my skill set to.”

Throughout the years, Finborough has seen her grow from a teenager to a confident young woman, ready to take on new challenges. When asked by Mr Clark what she will be doing to celebrate she smiled; “the family are taking me out to lunch and all the girls are coming together tonight in Cambridge which will be nice.”
Students like Yas truly embody Finborough’s values of ambition, excellence, and community. Everyone at Finborough is very proud of this amazing final bow and wish Yas the best of luck in her next steps.
